Should I Install a Video Wall in My Home?

It’s Not a TV–It’s a Video Wall

Should I Install a Video Wall in My Home?

When our customers want an ultra-large video display, they usually opt for a projector and screen. A projector is the surest way to get the widest dimensions possible, but it has disadvantages.

For one thing, projectors can appear faded or washed out during the day, although we can help that with an ambient light-rejection screen and blackout motorized shades. Additionally, you’ll need to find a location to mount the projector or lift. There are many moving parts to a projector setup, and some people are looking for something sleeker.

There’s another way to achieve wall-sized videos: the LED video wall. Formed together with microLED panels, video walls can achieve any size and shape you want. Is a video wall right for your Oahu, HI, home? We weigh the pros and cons below.

How Does a Video Wall Work?

Video walls are built by stitching together multiple microLED panels. These panels include as many as 3,600 pixels each that are individually illuminated. Because video walls are modularly fashioned together, we can build them as large as you’d like. We can even construct curved video walls if you have a curved room!

High-quality video walls won’t reveal any seams or stitching, so you won’t be able to tell where each panel starts and ends. All you’ll see is a seamless, thin video display encompassing the entire wall.

Video Wall Benefits

MicroLED technology uses microscopic LED lights to form each pixel. These self-illuminating pixels create strong visual contrast, ultra-fast response times, and are much more efficient than LCD and LED televisions. You’ll enjoy dazzling, crystal clear visuals in 4K definition that can rival any local movie theater’s display.

Another benefit? We’d have to say the size. It doesn’t get any bigger than this, and a video wall makes a jaw-dropping impression in home theaters and media rooms. But those aren’t the only locations to consider. You can also install a video wall at the end of hallways or other living areas to display anything from nature videos to a shuffling artwork collection mounted flush to the wall.

Cons to Consider

The higher price tag may prevent some from taking the plunge on a video wall. A video wall also can’t be pulled out of a box and assembled like a TV. You’d benefit from a professional’s help to mount such a large display.

If a video wall is too much for your home, other options exist–like a projector system or Sony’s 100-inch TV. But if the price and installation don’t deter you, a video wall is quite possibly the best video solution on the market today.
